Virtuous Tees was originally founded because striving to be a holy woman of God when shopping for T-shirts and tank-tops is a struggle that can become extremely difficult. Honestly, we here at Refuge Clothing Company desire to be fashionable and look our best, but that is really hard to do when society encourages women to dress less and show all. The popular thing to wear right now is a shirt that says "sexy" or "Playboy". These kinds of shirts send a message to others, especially guys that can be misleading and even harmful. It is hard to find a decent shirt these days. Either they cut too low or too high. Refuge Clothing Company is an apparel company that started to give women a solid way to express themselves as confident and respectable in the way they dress. Our Virtuous Tee line is a way to combat against the norm and fight for the dignity of women. Righteous Tees began as the Refuge Clothing Company's women only line grew. Men started requesting that we design T-shirts that they could wear. So, we did just that. We tried to stray away from the normal "retreat shirt" to a softer more fitted cotton blend that guys would want to wear on any occasion. The men's only line is meant for the righteous man….the man who is trying to do what is right. We hope these shirts help in your quest to be holy in word, action and appearance.

Funny Story
One of our employees was driving to the bank one day when she had a misunderstanding with an angry woman. The story goes like this. Our employee was waiting for a parking spot when the lady behind her honked to tell her to move. The employee waved the lady on to go around her. When the employee parked and got out of her car, the other woman started to yell profanities at her. Every time our employee tried to explain what had really happened the other woman kept telling her to "shut up". The woman kept saying rude things, and our employee started to get upset and angry. Even worse our employee was so antagonized that she in turn wanted to be mean back to this woman, and as she went to open her mouth to say something instead of turning the other cheek, when she looked down and realized that she was wearing the shirt "God Exists". She realized that if she was going to be modeling a Christian tee that she needed to be a model of Christianity to this woman regardless of how the woman acted. So, she just listened to the woman, and she remained silent. Like the old rule says, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all".

Girls…let's get one thing straight. Our objective in life should not be to look sexy. If you are trying to look sexy, you must stop and ask yourself why? Because the purpose of looking sexy is to lure a man into having sex with you… hence the reason why the word itself has "sex" in it. As Christian women we must fight for dignity. Society is telling us to look sexy, but God is asking us to fight against it. Does that mean we should wear brown potato sacks over our bodies and never look good again? No. Be attractive. Wear clothes that are flattering and fashionable, but still modest and dignified. Do not buy shirts that are too tight. If you are tall, wear a longer shirt underneath so that you don't show the lower skin of your stomach. These shirts run small, so buy a size bigger than you normally buy. Also don't wear these shirts with mini-skirts, painted on tight jeans or other un-modest clothes. Make sure your whole outfit is glorifying God. We can only sell you a shirt, but you ultimately are the ones that can change the wave of fashion, by modeling attractiveness vs. sexiness.
